The way i drew you is how you make me feel,
But it's the things that you did that made the moment real,
When we fell in love, in the way that i was powerless to resist,
We now know it and appreciate it for the gift that it really is,
To forgive someone willingly is one of the most difficult challenges we face,
and to pull out from our pride and say "sorry" is never too late,
To open our hearts and accept an apology with a warmth and kindness embrace,
The reward for this is greater than we both could ever have had to anticipate,
To look beyond the immediate and feel together what is going on,
And acknowledge to this love the diligence and attentiveness as our embrace grows strong,
I see and take notice everyday how hard we both try,
To love one another until the day we die,
I had to take a moment to write you this poem,
And to let you know that I love you and that I'm glad that you're home.
