Getting up

Goodbye to red, black, and blue
Hello the dawn the day anew
Frustrations fly on angel's wings
Allowing the melody I sing

That which haunted me in my sleep
And made my heart and eyes once weep
Due to my writhing pain and spite
Which impaired my happiness and soul with blight

I break free from the chains which bound
Then pick my dignity up off the ground
To look to the heavens and the sky
To soar with the eagles as they fly

Emotions now flow that I do not bury
Atlas's burden I no longer carry
I no longer crawl on bended knee
For I am now burden free
