A Smile

A SMILE

Once again it’s that time of year
Most all are filled with holidays cheer
Thinking of the gifts they get no doubt
Has the world forgotten what it’s all about

For it’s not the gifts we give nor receive
It’s our faith and love or how we perceive
The birth of Christ who died for our sins
Will walk among us again in the end

This holiday season remember to give
A piece of your heart to others who live
Your family, a friend or a stranger passing by
A smile and a nod, you may be surprised

December 25th is when Christ came to us
The only son of God in which we trust
To walk in his shadow as woman or man
Our sins are forgiven just reach out your hand

So as we celebrate Christmas remember this year
To give others a smile with holiday cheer.
As you read these words may a smile touch your face
And know in my heart for you there’s a place
