Fears gather like storm clouds above,

Attempting to put out this fire.
Trying to drown out my desire.
Threatening to wash me away.

Feels like maybe I’m dying of thirst,
Tired and weak, the knowing is the worst.
Ready for the rain, hoping it’s only a shower.
