Climb
I can’t live without your hope in my eyes,
Imagining the life in the days of our lives
The laughter inside every one of my cries
Trickles down my face and back up my spine
Its all innocence until, first, it becomes pain
High-minded thoughts ignore others gain
By finding some time to ignore other ways
A perfectly arranged mind becomes slowly insane.
Living quietly through the passion of your heart
Finding the beauty beyond the barbed wire guards
Covering the canvas with pieces of the sky,
Rediscovering your identity one stroke at a time.
You stumble your way through doubts and grief,
Misunderstanding the nuisance called disbelief.
Despite the mind games you so often play,
You find time incapable of healing the pain.
But when this hill is no longer a feat,
When this tunnel you’re traveling through is complete
You’ll ask yourself “Is that all there is to life?”
As your tears and ashes become petrified.
