Even For Me (By My Dad)

Ebon flows as night befalls
Shadows climb these prison walls
Flicker flames of memories past
How long must this nightmare last
Through the mist of yester years
I scream out, but no one hears
I close my eyes to bear the pain
The dreams I have infest my brain
As the grip of darkness ends
I'm on my knees to make amends
I cry out, to the Risen Christ
And open my eyes to heavenly sights
In my vision, a cross doth appear
His side is pierced by the Romans spear
Blood and water they now flow
On His face the anguish shows
He died that day to my shame
But even for me a Savior came
